David Morris
Professional experience
David is a highly experienced Registered Psychologist with nearly 20 years of clinical practice, supporting both adults and young people across a broad range of mental health concerns. His extensive experience includes working with anxiety and depressive disorders, grief and loss, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, work‑related stress, and challenges with emotional regulation such as anger and stress management.
In addition to his broad general practice background, David has been deeply involved in specialised therapeutic programs. He has worked extensively with individuals affected by gambling‑related harms, delivering targeted interventions focused on addiction, impulse control, and the emotional factors that contribute to problematic behaviours. His experience as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider has further strengthened his expertise in workplace wellbeing, enabling him to support clients experiencing burnout, conflict, performance concerns, organisational change, and difficulties maintaining work–life balance. Through this work, David has developed a nuanced understanding of how personal and professional stressors interact to influence overall mental health.
David draws on a range of evidence‑based therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. His practice integrates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. This combination allows him to work both practically and insightfully, helping clients manage immediate symptoms while also exploring the underlying patterns, beliefs, or experiences that shape their emotional world and behaviour. His flexible, client‑centred approach ensures that therapy aligns with each individual’s goals, values, and readiness for change.
Known for his calm, grounded, and empathetic presence, David creates a safe and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. He is dedicated to helping individuals build resilience, strengthen coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What David loves about working in mental health
“I love to support and empower clients to change entrenched patterns of thinking and behaving that are causing them distress. It is rewarding to assist clients to develop their skills and strengths so they can reclaim a sense of control in the midst of their challenges, and self confidence to manage future ones.”
