Dr Arifa Ahmed
Professional experience
Arifa is a highly qualified Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working in Australia and internationally.
For more than 15 years, Arifa has worked in mental health counselling, teaching and research. During this time, she has supported children, adolescents and adults to manage and improve their mental health and wellbeing, and enhance their potential.
Arifa has experience supporting people living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, OCD and developmental delay. She has helped those dealing with grief and loss, and people seeking parenting skills guidance.
Arifa has supported people via the NDIS, Medicare, SIRA and workers compensation schemes. Meanwhile, her research work has seen her contribute to new models of support within emergency services to reduce the mental health risks within this sector.
Arifa is multilingual, able to speak Bangla, and able to listen in Urdu and Hindi.
