Lesley has a deep understanding of the intricacies of mental health support in various contexts, and has extensive experience in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Medicare, and workers’ compensation counselling. She has provided clinical assessments for recruitment purposes, as well as providing assessments in a unit for young individuals with early psychosis. Her expertise extends to substance abuse and domestic violence counselling, and has worked in psychiatric inpatient settings.
With a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic style, Lesley employs person-centred approaches to her practice, tailoring her methods to meet each individual’s unique needs. Whether working with adolescents or adults, she is adept at supporting individuals through the complexities of drug and alcohol issues, domestic violence, grief and loss, as well as anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, stress and trauma. She is proficient in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative Therapy.
