Sylvie Braverman
Professional experience
Sylvie is a registered Clinical Counsellor who employs a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. With a focus on trauma, depression, and anxiety, Sylvie helps clients navigate their personal struggles while also addressing their impact on relationships. She recognises that many individuals have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms such as substance abuse, gambling, or self-harm to manage their emotional overwhelm. Understanding the purpose behind these behaviours, Sylvie works with clients to develop tools for self-expression and personal growth. Drawing from her own life experiences as a wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Sylvie brings a unique perspective to her counseling sessions. She firmly believes that with the guidance of a professional therapist and a commitment to self-reflection, individuals can achieve psychological strength and post-traumatic growth. Sylvie’s therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Experiential Person-Centred Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and The Gottman Method for Couples Counselling. However, she also integrates techniques from other modalities such as CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to cater to the specific needs of each client.
