Professional experience

William has worked in various healthcare settings including non-governmental organisations, clinics and private practice for more than six years. As a mental health clinician, he draws on his warm, compassionate and holistic approach to manage a diverse patient caseload, specialising in trauma counselling, stress management and interpersonal skills development.

William has experience supporting adolescents and adults living with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, substance abuse and relationship issues. He has been responsible for providing face-toface therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments and writing reports. This honed his skills in assessment and diagnosis, empathy and compassion, building rapport, cultural competence, problem solving and critical thinking.

What William loves about working in mental health

Working in mental health allows me to make a meaningful and lasting difference in people’s lives, assisting them to navigate challenges and achieve their full potential and independence. The opportunity to build trusting relationships and witness personal growth and resilience in my clients is incredibly rewarding for me. This resonates with the words of Aristotle: virtuous giving to others requires friendship with oneself.
